New Arrival

Our little boy was born on July 4th. We named him Emmett. I know every mother thinks this, but I think he is one handsome little man. I went into labor on July 3rd at about 11:30 at night. I had had three nights in a row previous to this of false labor, but that didn't prepare me for what real labor felt like. In fact I woke up wondering what was wrong. We went into the hospital to check at midnight. I was only dialated to a four so we decided to go back home. At five in the morning, I was so exhausted from three previous nights of no sleep and I decided I couldn't take it anymore and I wanted an epidural. So we arrived at the hospital the second time at about six in the morning. I was dialated to a seven and I was still not so sure I really wanted an epidural. Then they checked me about ten minutes later and I was at an eight and they told I had to make the decision. I decided to go with the epidural. I was dialted to a ten by 8:00 and they broke my water and had me wait an hour to let the baby move down more. I started pushing at five to nine and he was born, with the help of an episiotomy, at 9:54 am. I was so grateful for Tyler's support throughout the whole hing. I really married a great man. We have a beautiful boy. Here are some pictures.

Here he is ready to go home.

The proud new mom and dad.

Here are some newborn pictures I took.
